Are your recruiting events fun? Do they encourage guests to want to join your business? Many of you have great systems for successful recruiting events. For those still fine-tuning, here are some thought starters to help you create fun, successful events. Remember, if it’s not FUN, they won’t come! NOTE: These are ideas for a live event. You can create similar ones for a social media event.

Create a Welcoming Atmosphere. You want a high-energy approach to everything!

  • Have upbeat music playing before, during, and after the event.
  • Assign greeters to welcome guests by giving them door prize tickets and having them fill out Guest stick-on name tags to wear.
  • Coach your leaders to reach out to welcome and introduce themselves to all guests, not just the ones on their team.
  • Have fun product and kit displays set up with someone at each one to connect with guests & answer questions about the product or kit.
  • Welcome guests at the beginning of the meeting by having them stand and giving them a gift for coming.
  • Give a gift to each person who brings a guest.

Connect Lots of People. The greater the variety of voices participating, the more likely it will be to touch people. This is not a one-woman show.

  • Have two or more three-minute testimonies that you have coached well.
  • Have your best product demonstrators show the newest products and Host awards.
  • Have someone passionate about recruiting do the Kit Demonstration
  • Be prepared to schedule parties with those not interested in the opportunity. (remember the Mountain of Success.)

Share opportunity in a FUN way! Don’t be talking heads. Instead of “telling” people, here are a couple of fun ways to share the information.

  • Have a different leader share the answer to each question as if they were doing a recruiting conversation.
  • Role-play a “live” recruiting conversation with a guest in front of everyone.

Invite People to Join. You don’t want to thank people for coming and watch them walk off. You have a purpose for the meeting. Invite people to take the next step.

  • Set a Magic number for how many sign-ups you want. When you reach that number, “celebrate” by having a drawing for a free kit.
  • Have a “clear invitation,” so the guests know the next steps to join.
  • Some leaders give guests a helium balloon when they arrive. At the end of the meeting, guests who are excited to join are invited to pop their balloons. When the balloons begin popping, it creates applause and excitement.
