The number one objection we hear from hosting a party or joining a direct selling company is that “I am too busy.”  We want to share some tips that have served our clients and team members throughout the years.

First, the best defense is a great offense.  Make sure that throughout your get-togethers that you address why they are designed for busy people.  What do you do to make it easy for a busy person to host?  Tell guests throughout the event that you especially love to work with busy people because they deserve the rewards, and you make it easy for them.

Next, be understanding.  People are busy, and they don’t need you to nag them. You want to invite them to let you do a party for them.  Listen with your whole heart to their busy-ness. Ask them what some of their activities are; are they busy with school, sports, church, or work?  Is their busy-ness temporary, like a remodel or special project? If you really listen, you may find solutions that work for the future hostess.  Maybe she is busy with a wedding and hadn’t thought about a shower with your products.  Maybe she is busy with after-school activities and doesn’t know you do daytime parties.  Or you may ask if she will book a party later when the special project is complete.

Finally, be solution-oriented.  Look and listen for words, cues, and situations similar to others who are busy and had great parties.  Let her know what others who have been in her situation did and remind her of how easy you will make the process.  If she finds the value of having a party with you and for her friends, the price (her time) will not matter.

You have great ideas that have worked for you.  Take the first step and use them.
