When you get overwhelmed, do you lash out at others or shut down?  Either way, you are not bringing your best self to the table.

Here are three simple steps to get out of “overwhelm.”

  1. Stop
  2. Breathe.  Really, take a deep breath and breathe out slowly.
  3. Remind yourself that you are only human.

Ask, “What can I let go of?”

It may be an outcome, an opinion, something on your to-do list.  It might be a belief, a relationship, or an expectation.

Try this the next time you are feeling overwhelmed.
