Duplication is vital in any direct selling business, and it happens best with clear systems. We’ve all heard about “lather, rinse and repeat.” Did you know that you could create a system to duplicate leaders?   That’s a system.  What’s your plan for promoting leaders?

I often hear my clients complaining about how hard it is to find people who want to build a business. They say, “Why can’t I find someone who will work just like me?” My response is, “How do you teach them what you do?”

The first step in teaching others is a clear understanding of what you do to achieve your success. What did you do to promote, and how do you keep your business thriving? Put down in writing the specific actions required.  This is how you create a system. I call this process document and design.

Begin by creating a notebook with sections for each part of the business required to promote. For example: recruiting, invitations to become a leader, and onboarding new consultants. Next, write down everything you do in each of these areas. Finally, decide how you will teach your future leaders. If you discover that you have a missing piece in the promotion process, find someone in your company who is skilled at promoting and ask to interview them. Then document and design their processes!

The critical piece to consistently promoting leaders is to make sure that you schedule necessary activities on your calendar. You hold selling events every week because they are on your calendar. Do you invite people on your team to look at your leadership opportunity every week? Put it on the calendar, and you will! Duplication happens when you consistently do the same activity over and over.

Go ahead, create your leader promotion system; it works!
