O = Observe – You’ve observed your team member and know the qualities that will make her a successful leader. Choose two of those qualities.
C = Compliment – Compliment your team member on those qualities when you call and let them know you believe in them.
I = Invite – Invite your team member to hear about leadership. Remember, you’re not inviting them to be a leader. You just want to share the benefits of leadership so they can make a decision about it for themselves.
