Will your November Check be the biggest ever?

Are you riding high? November is the #1 selling month for direct sellers, so I bet you are eagerly awaiting your November check! What will you do with the extra $$$? Will you share it, have a fabulous holiday season, or bless others with donations? Will you splurge on something exciting or clean up your credit cards? Will the bounty of November be gone by the end of December, or will you use it to leverage your future?

Your November check is the perfect time to consider investing. You may want to add some to your retirement or other savings. How about investing in you? You, as the CEO of your Direct Selling business, are your #1 asset. What are you planning to do to grow “you” during 2015? Are you wondering how to best leverage your investment in you? Start by answering these questions:

  1. What part of my business is not growing as quickly as I would like?
  2. What role in my business is in my “uncomfortable zone”?
  3. What do I well, that if I did it even better or more would propel me forward?
  4. What skills or systems do I see top leaders using that I would like to learn?

What did you discover? I bet most of the answers have to do with learning to be a better leader. As John Maxwell says in his Law of the Lid, the people in your organization can never grow higher than the level of the leader they follow. Want to have more leaders, more sales, more recruiting? Raise your lid, and others will follow.

How do you evaluate your skills in building leaders?  For most direct sellers, this is an area that needs works.  Are you busy telling when you should be asking?  Are you training when you should be coaching?  How do you separate the want-to’s from the talkers?  One way to grow your skills is to spend your time developing the skills of your team who are just a step behind you. You get better by supporting their growth. Resolve now to start talking more with the people who will grow along with you.  You can make a great journey together.
