If you can dream it, you can theme it!
Are you getting excited? Have you picked your team theme? Last week I talked about picking your theme. Check that article for more on how and why you want to pick a team theme. Your theme will begin to come to life today as we move into Step Two.
STEP TWO: Apply the theme to your meetings
How will you ‘play out’ the theme at your meetings?
Introducing the theme
Send out special invitations inviting them to the meeting (or team call). Try using snail mail, they will take note and plop it on the frig! You might even use kids’ party invitations or send a card with a picture, sticker or other theme idea. How about sand in the envelope for a beach theme? If your team is too large for snail mail, try evite.com or eventbrite.com. Remember to ask for an RSVP and to allow them to invite guests.
Will you have decorations?
Head on back to the party aisle, pick up some plates, napkins, balloons and party favors.
Can your team participate?
Have them ‘dress the theme’. Virtual meeting, hold it in your FB group and have them post pictures of how they dressed – award something fun to the ‘best dressed’!
Mix it up, have them wear hats to one meeting, bring their favorite…., wear a t-shirt, etc.
Add some music
Head on over to iTunes and look for some music to play at every meeting.
