It’s “summertime, and the living is easy!” We’ve all heard those lines and understand them. The beach, pool, vacations, no school, camping, holidays, and more make the summer fun! Having the flexibility to do these things is why many choose a direct-selling business. So, what do you do when your team members are more excited about their vacations and being at the pool with the kids than they are about their business? It’s a challenge for leaders. You want to keep your sales and recruiting strong to stay on pace for that incentive trip and to keep your income steady. Here are two things you can focus on to make sure that you’ll keep your summer strong;

  • Book more personal parties/appointments. Adding 1-2 more a week will make up for team members on vacation. (If you have a $400 party average, that could mean an extra $1600 to $3200 in monthly sales.) You’ll want to ensure these are incremental parties above what you usually hold. Figure out how much more money you’ll make and plan a fun family vacation to reward yourself.
  • Step up your personal recruiting. Think ESP! That means talking to Every Single Person everywhere you go! Be ready to talk to ESP at your parties, pool, grocery store, cleaners, gym, and when you’re out and about shopping. Your friends, family, and neighbors may be ready to join. Let everyone know how much you love your business and how great it is to have the flexibility to plan your time around your family. Don’t judge; invite them to join your team. Make it your goal to have ten conversations weekly and ask them to join your team. When you take these actions, you will have results.

By being a Leader who plans and prepares for the season ahead, you will be reaping the benefits of great summer sales, new team members, AND a great kick-off to the fall selling season! And be sure to plan time to have some summer fun with your family!
