We often hear a common lament from direct sellers. “I wish I wasn’t out working every night.”  If that is your concern, here are some thoughts about getting more daytime business.

Before we list these ideas, checking your beliefs about building more daytime businesses is a good idea. Are your own thoughts limiting your success? Do you have doubts that you can get more daytime business? If you don’t believe that you can, all the ideas we share will never work for you.

Okay, you believe. How can you get more daytime business?

  1.  Go to the places people are in the day. Think about your product and where you will find your best customers. It will vary depending on your market niche. If you are looking for young mothers, you may find them in playgrounds, mall walking, at the library, or in groups like MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers). Don’t want to be a “stalker?” Volunteer.
  2. Offer to serve office workers during lunch. If you sell food-related products, this is easy. If you sell nutritional or skin care, think of a short 15-minute talk that features your expertise, not to sell to your audience but to connect. Once you connect, you will make customers.
  3. Ask for the daytime business. When you schedule parties, ask, “Would a morning or afternoon be better for you?”  If you are at an evening event, they may not know you are available during the day. When scheduling appointments, ask, “Would a morning or afternoon be better for you?”  You will discover many people have breaks, can get away from the office, or have days off in the middle of the week. If you don’t ask, you will never know.

We have seen many clients go from a ratio of 5 parties at night/0 daytime parties to 3/2:  freeing up two evenings a week. Others not in the party business have increased their day-to-night ration even more. What do you do to get more daytime business?
