In our ongoing effort to help direct sellers and other entrepreneurs get through the week, we offer another edition of our Wacky Wednesday Wisdom. Our goal is to highlight some of the things we are reading in an effort to brighten the next few days.
More from Life. As a coach, I sometimes have my clients make a list of “100 Things That Make You Smile.” It’s a great list to have around when you want to go to your happy place for a little refresher. (Try making your list. It’s harder than you think!) Marelisa Fábrega recently did my list one step better. Download her free e-book on 114 Ways to Celebrate Life. If you can’t find something there to get you through the day, give me a call and we’ll work on it your Grinch life style.
More than Money. While mo’ money may be one of the reasons people start a direct selling career, there is always some spiritual, emotional reason that is behind the obvious desire for money. Seldom however, do we think about our assumptions about money. Money just is. We don’t examine our financial values. Karawynn, in a guest post at the Get Rich Slowly blog dives into some of the ways that we can go about discovering and challenging our financial values.
More from Facebook. At the DSWA Train the Trainer meeting last week, online networking was one of the hottest topics. In fact, the people who were active warned the others about how addictive it can become. Now I may be out there just a little bit too far, but have you ever thought about adding a fanbox to your facebook? It may be a great way to get away from the “BUY MY PRODUCTS” type of posts. Try a little exploration as long as you don’t get too carried away. You can read more about the idea in the Duct Tape Marketing blog on fanboxes.
More Effectiveness. The StartupNation blog has recently published part II of a series about improving the landing page on your website. Along with part I, their ideas make a great deal of sense. As I read behind their suggestions, there are some important values for web communication—be simple, transparent, and avoid the extraneous. While you may not have a lot of control about all of your web landing pages, think about their advice as you can apply it to your Twitter page, Facebook page, or even an information page you might have on somebody else’s site. Does your page meet their test? Let me know.
How do you get through your Wednesday’s? I’d love to hear about your experiences.
