How often have you heard, “I don’t have any recruit leads.”? What are your thoughts when you hear those words from a team member? Are you sympathetic? Do you know exactly how they feel because you lack leads? Or do you find that hard to believe because you’ve found that recruit leads are everywhere?

Think about it; everyone is a lead until they’ve heard about the opportunity your company offers. Once they’ve listened to the benefits, they can decide whether they want to join you. So, it’s really about listening at your parties, appointments, and everywhere you go to find people who have a need. It may be more money to pay the bills, make a down payment for a house or mortgage, start college or retirement fund, get braces for the kids, or finally own that new living room furniture. Everyone has something.

When you listen and ask questions like, “What would you do with an extra $1000 a month?” you will find their “needs” or “wants.” It becomes why they may be interested in talking with you about your business. And if they want a significant income, you’ve found your next leader.

Asking questions helps clarify what your team member knows and doesn’t know.

Here are some questions you may want to use to see where they are with recruit leads.

  • Who do you think is a recruiting lead?
  • What’s your system for identifying leads?
  • How many recruit leads do you have right now?
  • How could they benefit from your opportunity?
  • Who did you meet lately that you liked?
  • What qualities did you like?
  • What do you say to a lead?
  • What do you say to set a time to have a recruiting conversation?
  • How were you asked to hear about the opportunity?

Once you know where they are, you’ll see where you may want to add some training. Asking questions like these will let your coach your team. Happy Recruiting!
