A coaching client’s comment got me thinking this week.  She’s a teacher and is excited about the end of the school year.  We were working on planning her summer.  She has started counting down and has only 5 workdays until her students are gone.  Five days!  She wanted to set some goals for the summer, and we started referring to them as resolutions.  Most of us set some resolutions as we get to the end of the year.  What kind of things will you “resolve” about your summer?  What will you plan and do in your life between Memorial Day and Labor Day?

Here are ten questions and activities that may help you make your summer fun and profitable.  BTW:  As a leader, you can have these conversations with your team. Wouldn’t you like them to have a great season and be ready to launch their fall business?  How cool would that be?

What are the most important activities in your life for the next three months?

How are you building a calendar so that everyone in your family knows the schedule?  (One client is using a desktop calendar stuck near the fridge, so everyone sees it ALOT.  It will have both personal and business commitments on it.)

At the end of the summer, how will you feel when everything goes right?

How do you involve your family in the summer planning?  (This lets everyone have ownership of family activities.)

Who on your team are your VIPs for the summer?

What are your personal business priorities this summer?

What are your first steps to set up your work hard-play hard focus?

How committed are you to take these steps?

What obstacles might get in your way?

How will you celebrate your accomplishments?
