When I was a little girl, my mother taught me about leadership.  I was going into the first grade and she said to me, “A real leader makes everyone else feel more important.  So if you really want to be in student council, you need to think about making everyone feel more important than you.”

As I got older, it really became apparent to me that it really is about making everyone else feel like they are doing their best and have something to contribute.

So the one thing that I couldn’t lead without is that I’m there to serve others; to help them to be their best; to help get their dreams to come true. No matter what capacity I’m in, my responsibility is creating an environment within which they can succeed.
