Summer is the perfect time to recruit lots of new consultants. You just have to focus on it everywhere you go.  Here are some tips that will make summer recruiting fun.

Give yourself a “check up from the neck up”, as Zig Ziglar always said. Make sure your recruiting attitude is in tiptop shape.  You have an awesome opportunity to offer.  Ask yourself, “Am I doing something to them or for them when I share my opportunity?”  If your answer is “to them”, then it’s time to change your recruiting attitude. Top recruiters know without a doubt that they are offering the best opportunity and are eager to share it with everyone.

Set a recruiting goal for the month. How many people will you need to talk to in order to reach that goal? Be intentional about finding leads and scheduling enough recruiting conversations to meet your goal.

Leads are everywhere. Be prepared to talk to people everywhere you go. Focus on people you like and want to be on your team. Introduce yourself to the friendly server or sales person in the department store.  Complement the success qualities you see in them and let them know you’d love to have them in your business.  Schedule an appointment to talk more about it.

Be sure that your family and friends know about the opportunity (my sister recruited me when I was talking about finding a job). I recruited a friend by scheduling a “practice” recruiting conversation with her.  She knew what I did and I never took the time to share the benefits with her individually. It was just what she was looking for!

At your parties/appointments, give your recruiting bids then follow up by talking to each person, sharing their success qualities with them and scheduling an appointment to talk more about it. Set the date in your calendar before leaving the party.

Here’s what I’ve learned about recruiting. Nothing happens until the recruiting conversation is held.  Your job is not to try and convince someone to join, it’s about showing them what your opportunity will do for them and how it could fit into their life. It’s up to them to decide whether they will give it a try. The more recruiting conversations you hold now, the more team members you’ll have join your team.

Enjoy your summer recruiting!
