The year is almost over, and you want to celebrate the success that you and your team have had. There are many ways to celebrate as a team, and you have probably already planned them. Here are three ideas to think about:

  • Plan a Christmas party for your team and invite the spouses. Have everyone bring a white elephant gift and a covered dish while you provide the meat dish. The main purpose of having a party is to have fun! It also creates memories, relationships and lets your team know you appreciate them.
  • Have year-end recognition in December or early in January. This is truly an “Evening with the Stars!” Make it special for everyone by highlighting top performers and thanking everyone who contributed to the team’s success during the year. It’s fun to dress up in your fancy clothes and model it after your company’s recognition night at conference. (You can have even more fun doing this on Zoom!)
  • Do a Zoom meeting on January 2 to celebrate all the success your team had. Play upbeat music in the background, recognize and thank everyone for their role in making it a great year. Recognize your top performers. Then share your vision for the new year and the goals you have for January. Keep it short, focused and fun to get the new year started.

Most importantly, enjoy your time with your team AND enjoy having some time off during the holiday. Make sure you take care of yourself so you can start the New Year re-energized.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year to you all!
