Summer is a great time to prospect for new leads and add new team members. Leads are everywhere! People are active; they are out and about doing about everything you can imagine. Summer is the perfect time for you to focus on prospecting. When you look for business, you will find it. If you don’t look, you won’t. Your biggest problem this summer isn’t finding people interested in your opportunity and products. Your biggest problem is going out to look for them! When you are focused on prospecting, you will find many people who are interested in what you are doing.
Here’s some things to help you prospect this summer.
Schedule time to prepare: Set goals for the month:
- Sales Goal – How many parties / appointments will it take?
- Recruiting Goal – How many recruiting conversations will I need to do?
- Promoting goal – Who will I promote? How many leadership conversations will I have to make that happen?
Write down your goals and post them where you can see them every day. They will keep you focused on prospecting new business. Block time in your calendar to do the activities that will give you the results. Plan a celebration with your family when you reach your goals.
Block time in your calendar to prospect: Look at your week. Where will you be outside your business? Ask yourself questions like:
- Who do I want to share my business with when I’m at the kid’s games or lessons?
- Who’s in my networking group or bible study?
- Who do I see when I’m shopping, at the grocery store, cleaners, hair or nail salon?
- Have I invited my hairdresser, the person at the cleaners or someone in my bible study to hear about my business?
Make a list and invite them to have a conversation with you.
Be Prepared: Carry a bag in your car with everything you need to talk about your business and opportunity: catalogs, recruiting info, product samples, etc. Always have the bag with you so you can share with anybody, anytime and anywhere.
Put on your People Finding Antennas: Now the fun begins. Your goals are set, time is blocked on your calendar and your bag is packed and ready to go. Now it’s time to start conversations and invite people to hear about your opportunity.
