I know that many of you have a VIP Customer Group, and some of you get high sales and engagement.  If you don’t, here are some great ways to improve your visibility, engagement, and get MORE sales!  Your successful, growing VIP group is a way for you to contribute, connect, and create community. These are people that (hopefully) love you!  Give them the love back.  Your VIP’s are Very Important People, and don’t forget it.

  1. Make Your Group Public! Most groups are either closed or public. Some companies require that the group be closed so check your company’s social media policy.  If you are worried about spammer, don’t.  Either closed or public, you can accept or decline people (spammers) you don’t want in your group.  You can also ask for an email address from each person who joins. That said, more people will see your comments, posts, and your group if it is public. Also, members can SHARE a post in your public group; they cannot in a closed group.
  1. Keep It Personal! Your members are looking to engage, not just see what you have on sale. Engage them! Ask for comments in every post. Use open-ended questions. Tell them to comment below.  Example: Which would you choose?  How many do you have? What do you think?  Where would you use…?  Some savvy direct sellers ask a customer in the group for input in the comments.  Don’t tag, engage.
  1. Remember Your Purpose! Your VIP Group is your community, not just a place for you to advertise. You are there to contribute, connect, and create a place that people want to be:  your group is for them first, you, second.
  1. Keep Your Promotions Simple! Having current members invite friends to the group is terrific. Do shout outs for those who add/invite people to the group. Do drawings when people comment, add members or share a post.
  1. Create “Welcome to the Group” Posts. Use fun pictures and review what the group is about when new people join your VIP group. From your desktop, there is a function “You have six new members this week.”  For more information, you can get help here.

So treat your VIP’s with respect and love.  Get to know them.  Care about them.  When you build that relationship, you won’t go wrong.
