The event ends, the leads are distributed, and everyone heads home, tired…
Suddenly, a week later, no one contacted their leads. Here are my top 10 strategies to guarantee follow-up.
- Repeat, repeatedly at every possible opportunity, “Our team follows up all their leads within 24 hours of the event.”
- Have the team repeat after you, “I follow up on all my leads, personally, within 24 hours.”
- Come home from the event, and THAT NIGHT email every lead, thank them for stopping in your booth and let them know that you will be in contact within the next 24 hours.
- Schedule a team Booking Blitz the day after the event.
- Create a team challenge; the person who posts the most activity in the team’s Facebook group within 48 hours of the event receives _______. Activity = people contacted.
- List phone, email, text, and Facebook on the lead slip and ask each person to circle their preferred contact method.
- When at first you don’t connect, try another method… phone first, text text, email, and Facebook third.
- Leader, make random calls to team members, checking how they are coming along with their leads and if you can help with any challenges or questions.
- The day after the event, create a team call center to allow you to keep track of results.
- SCHEDULE YOUR FOLLOW-UP TIME IN INK ON YOUR CALENDAR BEFORE THE EVENT!
Intention and expectation create results. As a leader, the more you focus on these, the more your team will succeed.
