While my spontaneity can be refreshing, it can also lead to running my mouth before I engage my brain. Here is a tool I use to slow things down so that I am adding to the conversation rather than just talking.

How do you slow down to speed up? T.H.I.N.K.

T:  Is it truthful?

H: Is it helpful?

I: Is it inspiring?

N: Is it necessary?

K: Is it kind?

Tools like this help prompt your memory. They aren’t hard to use. You have to raise your desire enough to change what you do.
