When you’re sharing your income opportunity, do you make essentially the same presentation to everyone? If so, you may not be enjoying the success you’re hoping for. Different people have different needs—and they’ll respond differently to the same message. Try customizing your recruiting message for each person you talk to for better results.

To customize your message, try to learn what motivates that person. Ask questions about what’s going on in their life. For example, do they

  • Need more time with their families?
  • Want to be able to work out of their home?
  • Wish they had something they could call their own?
  • Hope to move on from their current job to a richly rewarding career?
  • Long for respect and recognition from their family?
  • Wish they could earn extra money to make home improvements?
  • Wish they could meet people, have fun and make lifelong friends?
  • Need a new car but can’t afford monthly payments?
  • Dream of taking a vacation every year?

There’s no limit to the number of reasons someone might have for saying “yes” to the income opportunity—just as there’s no limit to how your company can enrich a person’s life. The key is to listen carefully and focus on the person’s needs. Once you discover what your potential new team member wants, you’re on your way to connecting how your business opportunity can make those things happen.
