Now is the perfect time to set appointments with your leaders to set their goals and direction for the new year. Here are some things you’ll want to talk about when you have their business planning session.

Review their numbers for the past year.

Sales

Recruits

Promote outs

Team count

Leader count

Compliment them on what went well.  Focus on their success qualities (who they are) and how they applied those qualities to make things happen.

Find out or clarify their “what and why” for the new year.

Ask: What dreams would you like to achieve in the new year? (No more than 3.)

Ask: What makes these important to you?

Set Goals:

Ask: What career level would you like to achieve this year?

Ask: What’s your income goal?

Ask: What sales level would you like to achieve?

Set Q1 Goals (January – March)

Ask: Where do you want to be by the end of 1Q?

Ask: What will your sales be?

Ask: How many recruits will it take per month?

Ask: How many new leaders will you promote each month?

Make a list of future leaders (those who have had a leadership conversation and set a target date for promotion).

Make a list of prospective future leaders (those with potential that have not had a leadership conversation)

Discuss the following:

What systems do you have that work for you?  (i.e. Recruiting, promoting leaders, developing leaders, tracking your results, driving activity, etc.)

What systems would you like to develop or strengthen this year?

What three things that worked well for you last year to grow your sales?

What three things will you do differently to grow your sales this year?

How would you like me to support you with your team and growth this year?

By taking the time to meet with your key leaders to discuss their business plan, they will have a vision for what they want to happen and be able to focus on what will make it happen. Write it all down, so you can keep their dreams and goals in front of them all year long.  As our good friend Zig Ziglar said:

“You can have everything in life you want if you just help enough other people get what they want.”

Happy New Year to All!
