If you can dream it, you can theme it.

How is your team theme rolling along? Have you been keeping up with the steps? By now you have completed the first three steps and we are well beyond half way:

Step One is to Pick a theme that energizes you.

Step Two is to Apply the theme to your meetings.Pick a theme that energizes you.

Step Three is to Use the theme for a special recognition and/or incentive program.

You are excited, your theme is ready to launch, you have some fun decorations and meetings planned,  now the question becomes how do I keep my consultants excited for three months?

STEP FOUR: Design the ‘pumpers’: ways to keep the theme before your team

What exactly is a pumper? It is that fun little thing that you do to keep the theme alive. I like to get a bit wild and crazy here. It keeps the energy high and your team WILL take notice!

  • Show up at your meeting dressed a bit wilder.
  • Change your FB team group header every week with your picture (or your team’s picture) dressed for the theme.
  • Send out snail mail – try these out.
    • Using a ball theme? Get small plastic balls and write on them with Sharpee Markers, including the address. ‘You Scored a Goal’ ‘Hit a Home run’ ‘Bounced it Out of the Park’ Yes, you can mail them without putting them into a box, take them to the post office for postage.
    • Tropical or beach theme? Write on a flip flop – see above
    • Paste google eyes from the craft store on a card… I see you… I am watching you… etc.
    • Make elevator calls – call through the team with a peppy message or quick recognition, playing your theme music in the background
    • Use eyejot.com to send video emails
    • Show up at one of their kid’s sporting events
    • Plop a lottery ticket in an envelope

OK, it’s your turn, how will you ‘pump’ up your team using your theme? Post, please.

It is not too late to go to First Friday and sign up. Last month’s recording is the complete package – a summer team theme ready to just implement!
