Think back to your days as a child. You looked forward to summer because it was fun!!  Playing outside, swimming, camps, picnics.  Summer means fun.  If you have been around direct sales more than a couple of years, you know that having fun in the summer will keep your team active, engaged, and productive.

Here are five  ways to promote fun on your team this summer. Thanks in advance for those of you who shared these great ideas with me throughout the years!!

  1. Have a contest to earn a seat at a BBQ or picnic:  family or couples.
  2. Use a duck pond with S,M,L marked on the ducks.  Your team can earn “turns” for recruits, appointments, parties or whatever you want to increase.  Gifts can be Small, Medium, and Large and ducks can be ordered from Oriental Trading Company.  Or if your team is spread out you can create a virtual duck pond on a power point slide and have them pick the duck on a webinar.
  3. Divide your team or leaders into “baseball teams.” Give points for activity, orders, or  recruits and award the winning team with a night at a baseball game.
  4. Have a Scavenger Hunt to create activity.  Give team members of list of possible prospects and award the winners with a pool party or movie tickets.
  5. Host a kids meeting (Neil hated these. LOL.)  Kids earn tickets based on Mom’s sales, activity, recruits etc.  We had a coloring contest, cotton candy machine, balloons, and kids talking about why they were proud of their mom.

Okay, your turn.  What fun things are you planning this summer so your team will stay engaged?
