To make something a habit, you must do it until it feels weird if you don’t do it.  I often talk about the habit we have of brushing our teeth.  It is a habit because you don’t wake up each day and announce, “I am going to brush my teeth.”  You do it.  It is part of your daily hygiene system (hopefully), and it would feel weird if you didn’t.

To support you in your efforts to make recruiting a habit, here is a checklist you can use.  I recommend doing this “check-up” every quarter to make sure you are working on all the activities that will make recruiting a habit.

  • I always offer the opportunity to my hostess during party planning.
  • I carry recruiting materials with me at all times.
  • I don’t just announce how much I love my job; I invite others to take a look.
  • I have an online recruiting presentation.
  • I have a compelling recruiting message.
  • I make sure my job looks fun.
  • I have my business card on my email and social media information.
  • I have invited my friends and family to take a look at our opportunity.
  • I have asked others to be on the lookout for people interested in part-time or full-time work.
  • I enclose recruiting information in deliveries, thank you notes, and party planning packets.
  • I invite people to opportunity events and meetings.

You’ll know that you have made these into habits when it feels just plain wrong not to do them.
