As a leader in direct sales, building new people is one of the fundamental responsibilities.  Too often, I hear top leaders say, “I don’t need to recruit anymore; I just want to get my team recruiting more.”  Folks, that is a thin-ice statement.  Having recruiting conversations weekly with your prospects, your team, and your future leaders is one of the most productive activities you can do to create more leaders.

I love this story and searched everywhere I could to find the author.  It is brilliant.  Feel free to share this article with your team, your leaders and take it to heart.

This is a story about 4 people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.  There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was asked to do it.  Everybody was sure Somebody would do it.  Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.  Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job.  Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t.  It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!

Who is recruiting on your team? Whose job is it?
