Let’s face it; the world turned sideways in the last few weeks.  You are not sure what happened, how it’s important to your life, or what you can do about it.  You are sheltering in place, tired of baking bread, and just wish it was all over.  Worst of all, the more you read or think about the coronavirus, the more depressed and frustrated you get.

Breathe, Just breathe. You are not sure where to start or where to go, so start where you are and take a breath.

Here are some critical parts of a typical coaching call that I had this last week.

Client:  I don’t know what to do or when to do it.  I’m supposed to be in charge, and I can’t do anything.

Coach:  How about starting with a deep breath?  Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Make it as deep as you can.  [Pause.]  Okay, Now do one more.  Ready?  What are you trying to bring into focus?

[Scooby Doo sounds and fast forward 30 minutes.]

Coach:  You sound less frantic.  How do you feel?

Client:  I feel ready to do something.  This has been great to clear my head and sort my priorities.  This sounds weird, but when I took that breath, it was like the world slowed down, and I could start to make some sense of it.

Breathe, just breathe.  When you are starting to feel “wrong,” then stop and take a couple of good breaths.  You bring your focus down to a simple physical activity.  You get a big burst of oxygen, which slows down your heart rate and lowers anxiety.

Just about everybody involving in a birthing event understands the process of taking a cleansing breath.  You empty space so that you can fill it with sharp, clean, calm control.  Cleansing breaths are also a technique to refresh and stimulate your mind and body. That’s what you are going to do to your life and business right now.
